July 1st – The Canada Day fireworks was well done! Lots of “Ooooos and ahhhhs” with the occasional “HOLY SHIET!!”. After watching this, I’m looking forward to the Celebration of Lights later on this summer!

From English Bay

July 3rd – Kitty’s Birthday and guess where did we go? The beach! *check* From the middle of downtown it looked like a terrible day to go to the beach. Gloomy, dark and there were even a few drops of rain! But once we got to English Bay things looked a lot better. At least we could see the sun! It was even kinda of warm. We were lucky.

To-do: Donate Blood (10/06/24)

Completed! I’m happy I finally got to do it. I’ve been asking for people to go with me since I turned 17 (minimum age for blood donation) but that obviously was not working out (i’m turning 19 soon!) so I booked an appointment by myself! Yes! I needed to do it before I pierce my ears or else I would have to wait months to be eligible to donate again.

My biggest concern was for my hemoglobin/iron level. I’m usually low in iron so I prepared myself by taking iron supplements, and stuffing myself with meat. Final reading? 12.5 g/dL! The MINIMUM requirement to be allowed to donate. Wow.

Jina went to watch the entire process and looked really grossed when my blood started filling the bag, haha. Thanks for going with me! Both of us were surprised that I was finished in 6 mins. I think usually people take 10-15+ mins to do it. I’m a good bleeder. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Hopefully, I have inspired Winnie and Jina to donate now. It’s a good experience! Try it!

I’m making good progress with my summer to-do list.  Almost done…sorta.

Now also complete! Kitty, Winnie and I baked cupcakes for Vincent’s Birthday. Yvonne then came after to decorate them with me. We didn’t know what we were doing at first but they turned out well (at least I think so)

Another thing to check off my to-do list.

I love whatever this is from the Korean Restaurant at Jang Mo Jib on Kingsway. There is a lot of tofu, an egg, some meat and kimchi all in one in this spicy, soupy combination. I had to order an extra bowl of rice because I loved it so much!
